Chronicle Podcasts : The wide world of television
San Francisco Chronicle – Apr 29, 2008
Tim Goodman and Joe “The Question Boy” Garofoli are bringing it covering a wide range of TV questions from the far corners of the globe and Canada from why Jimmy Fallon may stumble taking over Conan O’Brien’s show to whether there is any reason to keep HBO these days. Also they get into why sportscasters like Tim McCarver and Joe Morgan are still on the air what will happen to “Heroes” and whether “Little Bear” is one of the best shows for toddlers. And of course there’s the usual assortment of “appearances” by Bill Walton and Angry Regis.

Anyway probably at the end of the week I’ll be doing a special short podcast on this movie recommended only to people who’ve seen it to talk about everything I couldn’t say in the review. So spoilers galore. This won’t be part of the regular podcast but its own entity so people can either download it or skip it altogether. In the meantime if you’ve seen the movie and have any questions you can leave them at (415) 777-6268. For this one we’re only looking for questions not comments. UPDATE: We have to work out the time and figure out how we’re going to do it but director Vadim Perelman will be on the podcast when it happens. UPDATE 2: Expect the LIFE BEFORE HER EYES podcast to post some time Thursday morning… For this one we’re only looking for questions not comments. Keeping Time Tied to Intelligence
Scientific American – Apr 29, 2008
Duke Ellington genius. Ringo Starr? Well Ringo may be smarter than you think. Because a new study from Stockholm shows that people who can keep a beat score the highest on intelligence tests. The researchers asked 34 men to listen to a recording and then tap out the beat using a single drumstick… While sloppy drumming and sloppy thinking come from brain cells that are slightly out of synch. As for Ringo [lyric: “you know it don’t come easy”]. —Karen Hopkin60-Second Science is a daily podcast. Subscribe to this Podcast:.
